New Theme, New Version, I’m back. :D
Posted on March 1st, 2009 6 commentsI have a lot of things to say since I last posted, so here goes:
- I found this Vista-esque theme on the Wordpress main site and I LOVE IT. It even has an awesome functioning Start bar!
- As for the site, I’ve returned to using a blog since I have bought a new domain for my friends to use on our “project.”
- I also have been working on this site for the past week- http://www.gamer-universe.net/web101 It’s due Tuesday and I still have a ton of content to put on. I also have to find out what I’m going to use to fulfill my Flash requirement. It’s a site devoted to helping new players interested in Outspark’s Fiesta
- I would also like to congratulate Celtic_Princess on joining the CL Team at Outspark. She’s going to be a huge help for us!
- I have nearly completed my Server Status and Player Stats apps for use on the Outspark Forums

How did you do that?? That’s freaking awesome! I’d like to get my hands on that to see how their service is running. Last night they did a maintenance update and it seems to be taking forever and their main website is down at the moment.

I programmed them in PHP with GDLib. They simply parse information from the outspark profiles page. I still have a bit of work to do on the character stats so everything auto-finds instead. Unfortunately, I do not wish to provide such code to the public. The only other site who has it is Outspark Club. OSC’s version is the same except for the arrangement of text/image.
As for the Server Status, I am not allowed to release my code for it as it has private information inside.

No prob Ian – as you can see from my website, I just linked your graphic to our guild’s page, so no harm done there (I hope).
I saw the one you made on Outspark Club, I’ll use that one temporarily.If I sent you my info, could I use your code to generate me a cool-looking profile tag or dynamic signature like yours above?

You know, the one you created at http://outsparkclub.com/getchar/ then went on and improved –
I provide you my SparkID and my character ID (no password) just like the first one does, and I’m sure your code figgures out the rest.It could even use a default background image or choose your own background to integrate like a shot I did in Echo cave (back when I was a lvl 20):
I’m not asking to steal your code (you would still be given all the credit) or your personal information, but I bet there’s a way to improve it even further. Perhaps we could collaborate further.

I know there are multiple ways to improve my code, but I do not currently have the time to work on the script (Due to college semester ending). I’ve even made a to-do list on my computer for future revisions. Perhaps I can even make a script addon that will allow custom backgrounds- I don’t think it would be difficult for me to program… but we’ll see in the future. For now, I cannot make any progress for at least until the end of next week.
